Overview of TDK
TDK manufactures electronic components used inside almost every category of electronic equipment. Its passive component range covers multilayer ceramic, aluminium electrolytic and film capacitors, ferrite cores, inductors and transformers, high-frequency parts, piezoelectric devices and circuit protection components. Beyond passives it makes temperature, pressure, magnetic and microelectromechanical sensors, magnetic application products including recording heads, and energy products such as rechargeable batteries and power supplies. Founded in Tokyo in 1935 to commercialise ferrite, a magnetic material invented in Japan, the company now operates worldwide and runs a components entity in Singapore serving regional manufacturers.
