Overview of Hyperion Materials & Technologies
Hyperion Materials and Technologies develops hard and super-hard materials, principally tungsten carbide powder, cemented carbide, synthetic diamond and cubic boron nitride. Those materials go into cutting tools, wear parts, dies and process tooling where ordinary steel would not survive, and the company supplies them as base powders, semi-finished blanks for toolmakers, and finished components. Its portfolio runs to roughly fifty thousand products across metalworking, mining, energy and electronics customers, including tooling used in semiconductor and electronic component manufacturing. Formed in 2013 and headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Hyperion agreed to acquire tungsten carbide maker Electronica Tungsten in 2026.
